• If the DiscoveryGate installer does not detect this software, it will install this version of the JRE. If the DiscoveryGate installer detects an earlier version of this software, it will install this version as the active version of the JRE. If DiscoveryGate detects a later version of this software, it will not install this version of the JRE. The current version of the JRE will remain the active version. See the document DiscoveryGate Installation and Configuration for more information about the JRE.  

* Downloading of the Java software is needed only to draw a structure and perform a chemical structure search (it is not needed for other functionality, e.g. text searching in PharmaPendium)
